Starting September 2010 – FREE workshops series for Parents from 5pm-6pm
Held the Second Wednesday of the Month--**September ONLY our workshop held on the 4th Wednesday

Start off the new school year with great tools! The purpose of this series is to give parents a chance to learn and practice new ways to create a healthier and happier relationship with their tweens/teens. It is also a great opportunity for parents to express their concerns, get their questions answered, and meet other parents experiencing similar joys and challenges.

On September 22nd (5-6pm), we will kick off this series by exploring and discussing the following question

How can I communicate with my child about sensitive issues without getting into an argument or power struggle with them?

Tween/Teen Weekly Support Groups

Starting Monday September 13th – Ongoing weekly support groups for Tweens (ages 10-13) from 4pm-5pm and Teens (ages 14-17) from 5pm-6pm.

The purpose of these groups is to offer tweens and teens a safe, non-judgmental, positive, and relaxing space to share their thoughts, feelings, and concerns about anything that is on their minds and going on in their life. It is also a great place to meet and make new friends. The underlying goals of the group are to foster positive self-esteem and self-confidence, strengthen communication skills, and empower kids to achieve their personal and academic dreams. Participants will engage in creative and age-appropriate use of games, art, and dialogue to achieve these goals.

The 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month are the girls’ groups; The 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month are the boys’ groups.

For the remainder of the month of March, the girls’ groups will be on March 15th and the boys’ groups will be on March 22nd.

Parents required to register their child prior to first group attendance.  No commitment to attend a minimum number of sessions and your child/teen can come drop-in any week after the initial intake.

Each session costs $20 and payment will be collected prior to the start of each session in the form of either cash or check.
